Roof Cleaning

The Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton area has seen a dramatic increase in roof algae (Gloeocapsa Magma Algae) and mold in the last few years. It’s easily identified by the black streaks on the shingles, or an overall darkening with clean streaks below vent pipes. This is a common problem in southern states, and folks along the Coastal areas have their roofs washed every couple of years. Since this phenomenon is rather new due in part to climate change, many homeowners simply believe that their roof is losing granules, and needs replacement. There is no shortage of roofing contractors who’ll take your money and replace your roof for $5000.00 and up. This is unnecessary and easily remedied with an application of algaecide and a rinse, not to mention about 1/10 of the cost of replacement or less. Let us give you a free assessment of your roof and a written free estimate, maybe we can save you a couple of thousand dollars in the process.

  • No high pressure equipment used
  • Most roofs cleaned from gutter edge
  • Dramatic before and after results
  • Extend the life of your roof
  • ARMA recommended cleaning technique
  • Save Time and Hundreds of Dollars vs. having to replace your roof.

The ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association) has recommended a particular process to clean asphalt roofing materials. Using this technique ensures that your warrantee is not voided by improper cleaning methods and algaecides. Follow the link to their site and read the many technical bulletins concerning proper roof maintenance.

Metal Roof Cleaning Services

Having a Metal Roof guarantees you’ll have a roof forever, sort of.  You see, in order to last for a good while you will have to properly maintain it. This can be difficult because oftentimes it all begins with the seemingly unsuspecting dust and pollen.

Cleaning Metal Roofs is our specialty. Soft washing allows us to not get on the metal roof because we can shot our mix from a ladder, brush it gently down, then come back and rinse it with plenty of water using a separate hose and a pump that shoots 10 gallons per minute up to 60 feet in the air.

Some companies will apply harsh chemicals on the roof thinking that they will “restore” your roof. In reality, nothing can restore your metal roof to its original condition, and that is because it comes coated with a special Factory Acrylic Enamel designed to withstand the heat and the rain. This enamel gives it that beautiful sheen that it’s different from wall paint but in time the sun, in combination with dust, and pollen destroy everything especially if is not maintained. This paint wears out producing oxidation; harsh chemicals do make it shine again, but only for a short period of time. Don’t believe anybody can restore your roof, I come from a painting background and what really happens is that they thinned-oud the paint in your roof and in a year’s time or so, it’ll look dull again.

Let us thoroughly clean it, and then inspect it to determine if it’s time for your roof to be re-coated with a brand new layer of fresh paint.
